Nominees for Positions on the Board of Directors and Standing Committees 2017-19

The Nominating Committee, which includes Anne Scott, Esther Nasjleti, Julieta Macias, and Helen Disenhaus (Chair), respectfully presents the following slate of new Board Members and Standing Committee Members.

Each nominee has been fully informed of the responsibilities and rights of the position for which she has been nominated, and each has indicated consent to serve if elected.  Except as noted, all are nominated for terms from 2017 – 2019. Members of the DC Club may submit additional nominations as outlined in the bylaws.

The Mount Holyoke Club of Greater Washington, DC invites you to its annual Mary Lyon Dinner. The event will feature a talk by Naomi Barry-Perez ’96, Director of the Civil Rights Center at the US Dept. of Labor.

Proceeds from this year’s Mary Lyon Dinner will benefit the Edward R. Murrow Memorial Scholarship. Established in June of 1964, the Edward R. Murrow Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Edward R. Murrow by his widow, Janet Brewster Murrow ‘33, to benefit a Mount Holyoke student from Washington, DC.

event-planningDid your boss just nominate you to coordinate your company’s fall conference? Are you planning a wedding? Did you just move and want to host a housewarming party to celebrate? Whatever is keeping you busy, some planning and organization is essential. Join the March 2017 Roving M&Cs on Sunday March 5 from 3 – 5 pm to learn from Carolyn Lvoff (08) who has worked almost a decade in the event / hospitality / marketing industry. She’ll teach you a few tricks of the trade and (hopefully) answer all of your questions. And who says cookie decorating is only for the holidays? There will also be an interactive cookie decorating station!

Carolyn has graciously volunteered to host the event at her place at 1111 25th Street, NW Washington, DC 20037 (Atlas Condominium).

Capital Area Food Bank Volunteer Opportunity

DC is an expensive place to live. But it’s also an expensive place to eat, especially for those who are
food insecure. Come help organize and box food for those in need! The MHC DC Club will be heading to the Capital Area Food Bank for an afternoon of service.
